It seemed they had at least one thing in common, and if it turned out this guy actually was who she suspected then maybe things wouldn't have been so different after all. "I don't know how it is with real parents, but I know about my guardian and she thought she knew best, but it wasn't until she asked me to go that I realized there was even another way of doing things. Now I think I'm just trying to figure out the rules I go," she said smiling a bit, "So far so good I think, I mean I get what I should be doing, I know that it usually varies quite a lot from what I want to be doing, and 'should' doesn't always win against 'want.'" She said grinning a little bit just because impulse control was definitely not something she'd worked out in the few short years she'd been on her own.
She didn't need to tell him that she didn't have any family or parents to speak of, she hardly considered the woman who had been her guardian for fifteen years much of a family at all.
