Vlad's attention wandered to the ceiling, and he began to wonder if there was some way to get on top of the elevator when the girl offered her name. A sharp bolt of surprise took him off guard, but he managed to keep it concealed without so much as a flicker of recognition. Names were something he never forgot, and Darcy Chapman was one he knew all too well. Oh, he'd been young then, not yet as jaded and cynical as he was now; much more willing to assist someone in need. He turned his head slightly to look at her - the last time he'd seen her was when she was merely a baby. Providing her with money over the years had never required any personal interaction, but he had wondered from time to time. Still, the fact that she was here seemed scarcely possible. What were the chances?

He couldn't tell her who he was, of course; so instead he simply smiled. "It's nice to meet you, Darcy. My name is Vlad - I believe we may have spoken over the forums once or twice."
