Darcy had been keeping mostly to herself, after all what else was she supposed to do? Estella spent one night a month complaining and Darcy spent the rest of the month trying to annoy her. For now however she was just running out for some groceries to stock her fridge with, and to get some fresh air.
She was surprised when the elevator didn't take long, everyone had warned her about it, but she didn't seem to have much problem at all, sometimes it was a bit slow but for the most part it took her exactly where she wanted to go. When it opened she was surprised to see someone in there, and even more surprised that it was someone she recognized. She almost didn't step in, but remembered quickly that she was probably a few seconds away from making an ass out of herself.
She didn't say anything, she didn't do much but smile and then put her head down as soon as she walked in and tried to keep herself from hyperventilating. This man in the elevator with her had a face that she had seen every single day of her life that she could remember. It was a picture staring back at her and a lifetime worth of checks that had put her through college, well the first three years in any case. That face had never been anything more than a picture and now it was a person. A person who, for all intents and purposes, was the closest thing she had to a Father and the only "suspect" she had as to who her Father might be.
Did he know her? She turned her head up just slightly as the door closed to see if there was any sort of reaction coming from him at all. She couldn't tell, then again she was suddenly so shy she didn't look for more than a split second. She almost opened her mouth to speak, to say hello, to say anything but she just knew nonsense would come flying out.
