Of course Trenton wouldn't make this easy. Why would he? People like him went out of their way to act like jerks - maybe he got some kind of sick pleasure out of it, or maybe he just didn't know any other way to be. Either way, Cole was tempted to just leave him down here and tell everyone he hadn't wanted to go. If he was smart, he would have just gone with them back to his penthouse and kept his mouth shut. He glanced at Micah, shaking his head slightly before turning back to the cell.
"What the hell is your problem? What, did you think you could just bury Aaron in the catacombs and no one would ever find him? Did you think people were just going to leave it alone, never try to find out who killed him? Why don't you try being a man and owning up to what you did instead of acting like an asshole?" Cole shook his head. "You're getting a trial whether you like it or not, Trenton. You can either choose your defense, or you can refuse to and we can pick someone instead." He kept one hand on the cell's door, prepared in case the man inside tried to lunge forward. "For fuck's sake, we're letting you go back to your damn penthouse. Why do you have to make this so difficult?"
