Bran appreciated the fact that she got straight to the point, rather than wasting both their time with meaningless chitchat that had no bearing on the purpose behind this meeting. Of course it was about Lotte; their tale revolved around Erik and Christine, but it was far from a love story. As far as most people were concerned, his fable was the villain - something that never ceased to annoy him - and James likely wanted to make sure he wasn't the same.
