Friendly. Right. It was a bit unfair, really - most of the people that had greeted him had been pleasant. Even on other threads, there had been nice people. But the number of nice people was somewhat offset by the number of people seemingly taunting him with how "crazy" this building was. Brian didn't like that. He liked knowing what he was getting into, because frankly, the last 20 years of his life had been spent in the dark. He was still in the dark. Knowledge of pain was better than no knowledge of anything.
"Well, I appreciated it," he said simply, nodding. At her question, he glanced her way, raising a brow. As a dentist, he was always looking at teeth. And it was very clear that she was consciously hiding hers. He cracked a smile. "That's right. First dentist here, so I've been told." He wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing. For his sanity, he'd say it was neutral.
