The 'doggie' was still laying in the shade of the tree, and his eyes snapped open when he heard the boy approach. He was up by the time the child reached him, and stayed still as the boy stumbled to a stop.
He let his mouth hang open and his tongue loll out, panting. It was easy enough to play friendly dog, he'd found, especially with children. He looked between Tommy and Tegan, circling around Tommy once before flopping back onto the ground again, as if the small child had tamed him by his very presence.
