Maybe there was a reason this woman was sitting off by herself. He had no pack. He didn't need one. And anyway, where would he find a pack here, in the middle of the city?
He moved back into the trees, hackles still up. What did she know about him? Nothing. She might have a point about leaving the city, but he'd already thought of that, and he would. Soon. For now he was actually enjoying wandering through the human throng, looking at it from the outside, and getting used to living this way.
