"He's much more tolerable on closer acquaintance, your Vlad," Ella said honestly, adding with a smile, "as is Daniel, I suspect. I doubt he made a very good impression on you," she said, not adding that Helena must think even less of him now. She knew her friend well enough to know that Helena would support her choices at this point, no matter what they were, Daniel or no Daniel. "I love him," she said with a helpless little shrug.
"Being someone different - I think I'd change if my tale changed. Do you feel like that at all? If you were no longer Mina, would you feel differently?" she asked. "I know everyone has a different relationship with their story..." she said, trailing off.
