Oliver ended up receiving an icy look in the direction of where his voice originated from; Ben was a little miffed at being outed in a sense. It would have happened regardless, he knew, which was why he didn't bother making a fuss.
Instead, he went about locating chairs for himself and Madison before either of them found something else to trip over. That, and he was in no hurry to actually touch the board. He wasn't superstitious or afraid of it... however, there was something about it that he found unsettling.
