Peter was shocked by John saying he had a kid waiting on him, and then it dawned on him that this was exactly the guy he needed to see to look in on Milo. He felt like an idiot letting the kid stay only to have him dumped off on someone else. Either way, now was not the time but he made a mental note to talk to him after this, whatever it was, was over.
He appreciated Cole's view point, and was almost afraid to admit that it sounded sensible, well as sensible as Bellum could be when it got into it's moods. "This place is a fan of irony, in a room full of people, two of whom are liars, the lawyer is the one with the wounded pride." He said shaking his head. Maybe he should have been a chef.
Iris' words diverted his attention once more and from the looks of it she was trying to be the bravest little toaster in the room and he wanted to tell her she didn't have to do or say anything. Everyone lied on occasion and rooms full of strangers weren't supposed to hear about them! "I don't know," he said looking at her seriously, he didn't want anyone to have to do this, let alone someone he felt anxiously protective of at the moment. "Why don't I start? Just in case it is me?" he asked softly.
