Vlad had no desire to be paired with someone who would rely on him to protect them if anything went wrong, even though that applied to at least half the people in the building - but lucky for him, William didn't seem to be in that half. He tried and failed to imagine anyone save for Shane being armed, and he shook his head scornfully. "I doubt it. Most of the people I know have no idea how to shoot a gun, so their idea of a weapon is probably pepper spray at best."
It was pitiful, really; and he really couldn't understand why they wouldn't want to learn - like Helena. A gun was only as dangerous as the person who wielded it, after all.
