"I know you wouldn't have. She just worries cause she's been there too," Nick told Evie. It didn't even cross his mind to keep that quiet to Evie. After all, Evie was Nick's only confidante beyond the other girls. Nick leaned in to her for a moment, resting his head against hers.
"It doesn't matter now. I'm home, right? Safe and sound," he pulled back to give Evie a grin. "I even was outside on my own for the entire ride back. And I talked to a cabbie." For Nick, that was a pretty big step even if it left him feeling like he should spend the next few days hiding in his room.
