By the time they reached the third floor, Joanie was wheezing with the effort it had taken to get herself and Aiden up there without breaking both their necks. Slumping against the nearest wall, she pushed a hand through her hair, smoothing her palm through her ponytail. Now she had to get all the way up to her floor. Where was it, again? Seventh floor. Fuck. She glanced towards the stairwell, taking a deep breath and preparing to embark when a voice distracted her.
Looking his way, she stared at him for a moment. "Uh," she said brilliantly. "You mean it?" Rubbing her head, she stumbled towards him. "Ah'd really 'ppreciate it." Her expression flickered between a smile and a frown as she reached his apartment door, leaning heavily against the wall beside it. With a snicker, she leaned towards him, voice a loud whisper. "B'tween you'n me, Ah don't think Ah could find my place anyway."
