"The window is a good place to sit," he agreed, still thumbing through the menu. "You can see the outside, what is going on." He left it unsaid that seeing your surroundings conferred a strong advantage on the people that needed to be aware. After all, this was a friendly lunch, not a business one. There was no need to get into all that unpleasantness.
He chuckled. "Yes, and then you see what you were going to order, and begin to have second thoughts." After a few moments, he decided on the crispy skin duck and egg drop soup. The waiter arrived shortly to take their orders and disappeared, leaving them to their window table.
Picking up his glass of water, Diego took a small sip. "I cannot believe how nice the weather has been here," he said. "It is beautiful, eh? I don't remember my last visit to New York being this pleasant."
