He knew that any mention of the basement would remind her of what lay below, and that was clearly a sufficient enough distraction to keep her from turning on the lights. It was only a temporary aversion, but at least he'd bought himself a little more time. His expression was appropriately curious, with a tinge of interest thrown in. Trevor, after all, wasn't supposed to know anything about the basement, and even less about the catacombs.
"A pool? That's strange... I don't remember the realtor ever mentioning that." Bran frowned when she mentioned people died, and he made a mental note to do a little more investigating once he had a chance. "I was just wondering if that would count as a 'floor' we should check out." He paused, taking in the look in her eyes. "But it doesn't sound like a place anyone would have reason to be."
