He kept his hand out, as she looked like she might faint. An eyebrow rose and he wondered if there was something he was missing. It was a pretty good lie in his mind - he'd dealt with enough to know.
"Inspector Javert," Luther said. "From Les Miserables." He didn't know if there were other Javerts in the common fiction, after all. He hadn't even made it through the entire book.
There was a small smile and he shook his head slightly. "She seemed fine. A bit concerned with her safety which was...reasonable." He frowned. "I must apologize for his behavior last night - she was there," he said vehemently.
