The poor woman was nearly petrified. Everything about her radiated tension, but who could blame her? Problem was, the lion wasn't exactly sure how to make himself seem less threatening. Steering her away from the wolf was for her own good, although he had no way of explaining that.
Still, he thought he could speak. He wasn't sure how or why, but it was something that he subconsciously knew he should be able to do. Unfortunately, when he tried, he ended up making just another frightening lion-noise.
Not quite as planned. He huffed in displeasure and and immediately sat, hopefully making it clear that an attack would not be forthcoming.
