It was the scream that he noticed first, followed by the faint smell of... blood? He looked up just in time to see a large wolf in hot pursuit of a frantic girl. A hunt in progress. There was no mistaking it-- the wolf was going for the kill, for whatever reason. The entire scene likely would have gone ignored, if he had been an ordinary lion. If some distant part of himself weren't practically screaming for him to help her, God damnit!
He gazed at the young woman for a moment before his gaze fell upon the wolf; mind made up, the tawny form rushed forward a short distance with an aggravated, snarling roar in return. Slaughtering terrified girls on his stairwell? Well, absolutely not.
