Re: Floor 12 - going down the stairs
Despite the difficulties she faced living with her stepmother and stepsisters, Cinderella had never been in any real danger. She really didn't know how to defend herself, and even if she did have a sword or some kind of weapon, she wouldn't have known how to use it. She was afraid, and yet at the same time she felt as though it should be some kind of dream. But the monster's cries sounded very real, so there was nothing she could do except hope that Sinbad would know what to do.
She finally tore her gaze away from the creature and turned to him, nodding as she listened. Part of her wanted to run past the thing instead of trapping themselves between it and the water, but if Sinbad was the traveler he said he was, then he likely knew more than she did. "I understand," she said quietly, trying not to flinch when the monster shrieked and made that awful noise with its claws. The idea of leaving him alone to fight such a creature was not very appealing, but what help could she be to him? She realized how very impractical her shoes were, and she managed to slip them off as she slowly backed towards the ship. Glass slippers were suitable for royal balls, not situations like this.
Although the cyclops didn't seem to be moving very quickly, its size increased the length of its stride, so she tried to quicken her own speed without calling too much attention to herself. A few more steps and the creature would practically be upon them, but the ship wasn't very far.
