The only acknowledgment of her apology was a short nod, barely even there considering his head barely moved at all. He wasn't particularly angry, not since it would be less than desirable for anyone to see him so obviously out in the open like this - not that he would allow that to happen, of course. Still, Erik was accustomed to the fact that Christine forgot these sorts of things every once in a while.
Her refusal, however, made his eyes narrow. It wasn't an outright no, but it still infuriated him - did she not think that he knew whether she was to sing or not? He, who had done whatever necessary to ensure that she was given the roles deserving of such a voice? Erik knew, he always knew. And now, he knew she was lying. "Have you forgotten who you sing for, Christine?" His voice sharpened slightly, but he still refused to lower his hand. "You wear my ring, and you belong to me."
