Penthouse level
She felt ridiculous, but it didn't stop Deirdre from taping the hand written sign to the inside of her front door.
Please remain inside your castle tonight, Your Highness.
She double-checked the locks on her door, making sure they were all secure, hoping that the combination of them plus the sign would keep her inside.
Checking the clock, she went to sit on her couch. Not even work was able to distract her as she waited for, and dreaded, the moon. The air shifted around her as the sun went down, and by the time the moon rose, the temperature had dropped to below freezing in the penthouse, snow starting to swirl around the corners.
The note on the door gave her pause, but made the corner of her mouth twitch up slightly in amusement. As if that woman could tell her what to do. They were similar, granted, but The Snow Queen didn't follow orders. Especially not from someone who had returned the child she had taken. She discarded the note and unlocked the door, snow swirling around her bare feet as she stepped out to go find the child and claim him again.
