"She didn't do this, to Ella, did she?" He seemed anxious, rather than scared. "She's her sister she... she was sure that she wouldn't..." he trailed off again, unable to finish even one sentence at a time. He could only think of how awful it would be for Ella if her sister had betrayed her. Vaughn didn't even factor into his own state.
Daniel wasn't even aware of his own state.
"No, I need to get some water," he shook his head stubbornly, and rotated to face the sink. He turned on the faucet and found a glass. He left it under the faucet before he turned to Vlad again. "Someone cut her up," he said, blankly. "Why would someone do that to her?" Despite his worries in the hours before, Daniel had a hard time conceiving anyone would want to hurt his Ella. The glass filled and overflowed.
