Pete was grateful for the drinks, and they were helping. If they weren't helping with the sting of losing Lena, they were helping him come to terms with the fact that he was officially "that guy" in the bar who monopolized people's time and energy with his marital woes. He thanked Rick with each round of drinks and picked up one more for them, he didn't mind being "marital woes" guy but he had an issue being "cheap marital woes" guy.
He shook his head slightly, "You know I didn't have much luck until I met her," he said honestly. "And you know we got married young, and-" he paused. He didn't really feel the need to discuss all the reasons why they decided to get married so young, "And maybe that was a mistake, but until the other day I didn't think of it that way at all. I am a first class moron because I didn't even see it coming. I just..." he finished off his drink.
He tapped his fingers on the bar trying to grasp at a thought, "You know what it is? I'm in shock, but I feel like I shouldn't be."
