"Fifth floor." Rick smiled and put his hand out in the manner of a man who was used to introducing himself to a lot of people in a very short period of time. He had a sort of acquired calm about him that had to do with the two-piece blue gray suit and the way his tie was a a little loose in just the right way. There were sunglasses on the inside of his left jacket pocket though it was still night, and he wore the shoes of someone who did a lot of walking but still needed to look good doing it. He wasn't wearing a weapon, and at present the badge was hidden by the fold of the jacket on the side opposite Peter.
Utterly normal in the business-like way, Rick said, "You look like you had a rough day." Rick's rough day included two dead bodies, a crime scene that went through two dive apartments and literally dripped down into a third, and not nearly enough hot coffee. He was understanding of his fellow man's 'rough day' standards, though.
