At his command, she nodded, slipping two of the small pills into her pocket. She snorted as he mentioned having a whole week before the Night of Weird. "Yeah, we'll see if that's enough." She wasn't even sure how you'd test something like this. Maybe she could make something edible, but would it work like an antibiotic? She wasn't about to suggest human trials - didn't the Nazis do shit like that, with magical science? - but honestly, she didn't know what else you could do save for trial and error. The trial part she was cool with. But error? She didn't like error.
Clearly, this guy didn't like to sit still. As he traveled around the apartment, going to the sink to wash something or other, she drifted after him, feeling very much out of place as she leaned against the nearest wall. She was about to reply to his invitation to take whatever she wanted when he said something that stopped her in her tracks. Impressive? She blushed with embarrassment.
"Yeah, well," she replied aloofly, folding her arms over her chest and shrinking slightly. "I'm starting to get a handle on this stuff, and what with my fable having a reputation for being a crazy bitch and all, I thought it couldn't hurt to try and lend a hand." She delicately skipped the part where she wasn't exactly the opposite of a "crazy bitch." He didn't have to know that. "But what's up with you?" Or maybe he was about to find out. "You scold me for telling you about my magic because "bad people" might find out, but you're basically inviting a stranger into your house and giving her a free goodie basket." She straightened up slightly, an imperious smile on her face. "You want me to do as you say, not as you do?"
