Faith was immediately cheered by her plant, assured by Daisy's friendly smile, and she moved it to a nice location on the window, where it might get a bit of light. She studied it for a few minutes before turning to Daisy, looking a bit apologetic because now it was clear that even if Faith had moved in a few days ago, there was still a distinct 'just-moving-in' feeling that she was getting used to. It wasn't quite home yet, though she had her secondhand sofa, the quilt her mother had knit thrown over it haphazardly; the old television set from home; a table with salvaged boards from a barn somewhere in the midwest. To be honest, Faith was more fond of a modern vibe, but this was what she had when she moved in.
She went to go sit on the couch and pat the seat next to her for Daisy, fishing around the cushions for the remote. "You ready for the movie?" she asked, finding the remote and clacking at the buttons triumphantly, hoping that the 'down' channel button wouldn't stick this time. "I've been lookin' forward to this since day one."
