Perhaps this unannounced visit was not the best plan Benjamin had ever put together. There was no guarantee that Oliver would even recognise him. Names and stories were easy enough to remember, but Oliver had likely seen thousands of faces. Likewise, there was no guarantee Oliver would even be home at the moment.
The notion of a wasted trip made him frown. But, no-- he heard movement on the other side of the door, and moments later, it opened, revealing a... cat.
Staring at him with large, glassy feline eyes.
Ben blinked, brows furrowing as he inspected the fluffy creature. Was it glaring at him, or was that the way its face naturally was? Maybe a trick of the light? The call of his name brought his attention back to Oliver, and he offered an unsure, "Hi?" It was a pathetic start, but a start all the same.
The offer to come inside was unnecessary, but Ben said nothing. He had probably been rude enough already. Instead, he hesitantly made his way inside, looking all the part of a timid animal stepping in to a new habitat. "Were you busy?"
