"I should have warned you. I can be quite cruel sometimes. Or at least, a bit of a tease." Her voice was equally light and her lips were smirking. She glanced at him at the corner of her eye and then tossed him a quick wink. "But I hear good things come to those who wait." And there was the hint of seriousness again, this time in her promise.
"You're spoiling me," Helena warned him, although she could hardly keep the pleased smile from her face. The building was coming into sharper view and rather than feel apprehensive, she was the opposite. There was disappointment as they neared but nowhere as bad as it could have been. She was hopeful for their future, and this only made her want to start a new life with him as soon as possible. "I've had a wonderful time tonight, you know."
