She had been lost in the moment, simply happy and content as they walked, letting the sounds of the city wash over. She had been simply reveling in his presence and she was slightly startled by his question but her answer was immediate. “Egypt.” A beat, and then a laugh. “Or Greece. It depends on my mood, but those two have been on the top of my dream vacations since I was very young.” She was sure he would wonder why so before he could ask her, she gave him a slight shrug.
“I was always quite taken by them. By their histories.” She had a soft spot for their respective mythologies, but Helena also was a little tired of dealing with literature. “I love New York. And I love traveling in the States. But we don’t have anything… ancient. Old, but nothing like that. They have history and these amazing testaments to achievements that can stand the test of time. I always imagined that I would be awed if I went there. I picture the pyramids or the Acropolis and I’m bowled over just thinking about it. So to be there would be so…” She still moved beside him but her hands let his arm go, flexing and flailing as she tried to find the right word, but only curling around him once more when she failed. “And I would love to go travel somewhere on a plane. Domestic flights don’t count. And I can only road trip so much.”
The way in front of them was relatively clear of people and obstructions, so she took a moment to pull away. Instead she moved in front of him, reaching around to hold both of his hands in hers, and walking backwards so she could look at him. “You will have to guide me. And catch me if I fall,” she warned with a smirk before turning his own question back on him. “Where would you go? Or, if you prefer, where would you go if you had to travel someplace you’ve only heard about, but never been? If such a place exists.” Her little smirk grew a bit, as she didn’t think there were many destinations he hadn’t been to already.
