For some reason, Lotte had a habit of being around people more confident than herself. (Though granted it wasn't very hard to be, with her.) Diego seemed to lead the way, knowing the area better than she did even though she'd been there for a few months. Her head ducked slightly as people moved out of their way; normally it was her that did so, dodging with mumbled apologies. She stayed close to his side, even when they got to the ice cream parlor and ducked in.
"Nothing like that. Valerie wanted me to eventually be a dancer there," Lotte explained. She paused, then added, "Valerie's my foster mother. She's been very good to me..." Until she stopped talking, because of the loss of internship.
