"No you wouldn't," Ileana retorted, "You'd never hit a girl and I know you'd never hit me especially." It's not like she couldn't fight back either. She got away alive from a vampire, so she was sure Cole didn't really stand a chance.
When he sighed and sat up straight, Ileana scooted closer until she just gave up and practically climbed into his lap. She hated having to talk about this. Hated having to even worry that it was a big deal to Stefan and hated that Cole asked her if she should even be here. She probably shouldn't, it ran the risk of making Stefan angrier. "He'll get over it. He doesn't actually have any pull over my life, beyond good ol' emotional manipulation." She said thoughtfully.
"I'm not lying to him anymore," she told him. "I just haven't told him your name. Mostly out of the fact he was angry enough he would've really came down here and tried to start something." Looping her arms around Cole's neck, she gave him a little smile. "But it'll be fine. I think when he calms down, he'll deal with it better. Besides. He has a date with his 'princess', so he's going to be over the moon and probably won't even remember to be mad about this in a few days."
Ileana didn't like that look on Cole's face and leaned in closer, nearly having their foreheads pressed together. "Don't worry about me. I can handle Stefan. I've dealt with him for nearly half my life." She gave him a quick peck on the lips before she finished saying, "Plus, you're a wonderful man. He'll see it when he gets to know you and he'll see how much I care about you."
