The thought of the Beast version of Daniel speaking other languages made him smile, particularly since he seemed to have had enough trouble with English as it was. The image of the hulking creature attempting to type was also amusing in a way few things were - to him, at least.
Vlad decided not to mention that he had taken over from his father, nor that it was his predecessor which had achieved most of the success that had likely impressed her. That was why he'd come here in the first place, to prove himself in his own right instead of simply continuing what his father had begun. "I do prefer to be on my own," he confided, "And it did take me quite a while to find someone experienced enough to handle a position so close to my own."
There had been a time when he had preferred working from home, but now he was beginning to think that venturing out was the better option. Staying in this building for too long was enough to chip away at anyone's sanity, and to return to a typical business setting would be familiar in a hopefully positive way. Working from home, after all, could only get him so far - and Vlad was not the sort of person who settled for anything. "It has not been as successful as I would have liked, but many people have told me I am a rather impatient sort of man. I enjoy efficiency and progress, but not everyone is quite as ambitious as I am." He took another sip of wine before shaking his head. "Failure is not something I am willing to accept. I have no plans to return to Europe in the near future." Not unless something drastic happened that had nothing to do with his business.
"How did you come about owning your own business? It is certainly an impressive feat which few can boast of."
