"They certainly do have their advantages," he agreed. Despite the fact that he was usually one of the focuses of the anonymous posts, they were very good at exposing people for what they really were. Behind the mask of anonymity they revealed what lay beneath their everyday exterior, and it amused him. Very little could surprise him anymore. "I myself know the man they call a beast, and I doubt he would be such a good conversation partner if he were an animal."
Vlad had met and known a wide variety of women in his lifetime, but very few could boast of owning their own business. There were the ones like Kiki, who thrived on wealth but did nothing to earn it; and the ones like Helena, who had potential but didn't use it - with others somewhere between. The fact that Deirdre was a businesswoman already raised his respect level, as well the impression that she wasn't the sort of women who enjoyed depending on anyone but herself. He could certainly relate to that. "I run a series of law firms in Europe - well, I suppose you could say I am not as involved in the business overseas as I was. We are interested in expanding into America, which is why I am here. My partner is taking care of things in Europe." At first he hadn't liked the idea of having a partner, but once business expanded, he realized that if he continued to cling to his pride then everything would be ruined. It was the one thing his father had never done.
"I have been working from home for the past few months, and until a few things can be straightened out I can continue to do so. I suppose you could say I create my own hours." He smiled before taking a sip of wine, not bothered in the slightest by her question. There were some things he didn't mind talking about.
