A pleased smile snuck across Deirdre's face at the offer of what was essentially a hostess gift, expected visit or not. Someone else that chose to follow the rules of social niceties that had been drilled into her as a child. "Social and with a gift. Your toll has been paid; you are allowed to enter." The smile widened a bit as she stepped back from the door, allowing enough room for him to pass through.
She closed the door behind him, gesturing toward the living room, still remembering how to entertain, even if it had been a while since she allowed guests into her own home. She studied him closely after his apology, eyes clear and blue, and shook her head slightly, giving him a smile. "You did nothing to me that would, in my opinion, require an apology. But since you felt the need, you are forgiven."
She didn't know how to explain that what she'd seen, and what she read in the forums, didn't seem to phase her as much as it probably should have. Neither did she know how to describe how she felt about her own 'character'. Instead of expanding on her answer, she reached out for the bottle. "Are you staying long enough that I should open this? Or may I offer you something else?"
