Rosalie's frown deepened. Vlad was someone she trusted and she didn't want an angry mob going after him any more than Daniel did. It wasn't fair how completely irrational people could be sometimes. "Plenty of people wouldn't, you know," she tried to reassure him, glancing over for a second and then shaking her hair behind her shoulders. "And there are-- we can keep him safe, can't we?"
They had reached the highway, so Rosalie kept quiet about Daniel's obvious discomfort with the car ride, not wanting to further it by pushing. Night had fallen quickly so the open space of roads disappeared into darkness not far from the edges of the highway, just as the skyscrapers faded behind them.
