John hit the ground hard and grinned up at Cole. "Yeah, fine," he said, hopping to his feet. "Good job, man, that was great." And he gave him a slap on the back. "So we'll have you do that a few more times, but I'm gonna show you something else, too."
Rolling his shoulders, John stepped behind Cole again. He slung his arm around the kid's neck, not too tightly. "So if you panic for a minute and can't remember the throw, just tuck your chin down and get it against my elbow. Once you do that, I can't choke you. Your head's in the way," he said. "That'll give you some time to think. Before you go and throw someone like this, another good idea is to jab 'em in the stomach." He took Cole's left elbow and pulled it back and against his side, under his ribs. "Bout here should do it. Go ahead and go through the motions a couple of times. Get used to how it feels. Then, when you're ready, hit me in the side and toss me over. Don't tell me you're ready. Just go for it."
