The Beast just froze, fur on end, radiating with fear and tension and a kind of rolling, impotent rage that grew until it collapsed in on itself for one icy moment before it began to grow again. He moved forward on stiff legs until he was another foot in front of the girl on her couch. He showed the Witch his teeth and ducked his head low until his shoulder blades rose in sharp confrontation. "What do you want?" The blue eyes were the same, intelligent, sharp. As the Beast stared at the Witch, Daniel stared at Vaughn. Their reactions did not conflict, but they were not the same. "I've done nothing more to you. Go away and leave me alone."
