The door opening might not have woken the Beast, but it did wake her. She had been dreaming of a huge library in a stone castle covered in tapestried walls, and the light from the hallway brought her out of her slumber. At first, she only saw a woman in the light, a vague silhouette surrounded by brightness. In her sleep-trusting state, it didn't worry her, and she closed her eyes again and snuggled further into the couch, reaching out one hand to touch the Beast, reassuring herself that he was still in front of the couch.
A few minutes later, she was pulled from her sleep by a niggling feeling that something was wrong, and she sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Who's there?" she asked, voice soft and sleepy.
