"A rose," she said, clarifying. "My sisters wanted-" here she hesitated, because she only had one sister, and she wanted something completely different. "That part gets confusing," she admitted with a soft frown.
When he stopped purring because he didn't have any flowers, she patted his head softly. "Are they out on the balcony?" she asked, already moving to stand carefully when he acknowledged the pat and the question.
She wasn't trying to leave; just to go see the aforementioned flowers, and she rubbed between his ears reassuringly.
