When he didn't pursue the sound, Boyd got completely frustrated. Still, maybe this could be salvaged. She grabbed a sneaker from the laundry pile, so quietly so as not to be heard.

She aimed for the laundry chute...

... and she threw the shoe.

Something could be heard going down the chute, and something could be subsequently heard splashing into the pool below.
