Resisting the urge to cackle - who cackled, anyway? - Katya smiled. She sipped at her tea, watching the young woman sitting across from her. "Strange? There is no strange things here." But there was, and she knew it. Still, she knew it was better to allow things like this to happen than to fight against it, which was the only reason Katya wasn't struggling against all the strange impulses she was feeling. If it felt natural to say something, to do something, she let it happen.
That was why she lit a candle in the back of one of the skulls. "Light is good thing to have. But not cheap. Not free, no." Katya took another sip of her tea. "For light, you do three things for me, little girl. I give you three tasks." This seemed fair. "And if you fail, I will kill you." That, not so much.
