Re: Penthouse Level: 12:00 am
Rosalie didn't know how to make the briers go away. She didn't know how she had made them grow in the first place. Backing away more, she felt the thorns melt away tightly around her, their sharp points just barely grazing her skin. And then suddenly she was next to Daniel. "Hey there," she told him softly, patting him again. It was meant to be soothing, because it seemed to Rosalie that if she had turned into an enormous animal, she would be freaked out, but her eyes were still glued to what was happening back inside the thorny curtain.
She had to get Boyd out. Hand tightening briefly around Daniel's fur, she took a deep breath and abandoned him again, ducking back through the briers. "I'll work something out," she promised, realizing that Boyd's lack of complete self-awareness was going to make it difficult for her to help Rosalie with a plan. Wrapping Boyd's hand with her own, she tried putting it through the thorns again. It went along, but the thorns scratched the back of the other woman's hand, so Rosalie dropped it back quickly, glancing once again at Vlad. "I'm sorry!" she apologized quickly, meaning it.
The thorns behind her seemed to rustle and move, molding to the shape of her back as Rosalie tried to figure out how to get Boyd back through to safety. Try to shield her like she had with the hand? Boyd was a good six inches or so shorter than Rosalie, which was small enough to protect her face with her shoulder. And if it didn't work...
Rosalie didn't know how to fight vampires. It would have to work. "Boyd, cherie, come here."
