Something was in her way. She saw it, really. But she was running so fast that it might as well have been a figment of her imagination. Her body reacted before her brain did, twisting her shoulders and stumbling awkwardly past the roadblock. She would have been perfectly happy to keep running towards the stairs, but that damned lump yelled at her.
That was unacceptable.
Whirling, her hair whipping through the air like a mass of black cords, she paused to stare at the distraction, her hands held stiffly away from her sides. Her green fingers were twisted in the shape of claws, her nails prominently featured as she took a slight step forward. Though the brim of her ball cap shielded a bit of her face, her green - with mottled white makeup - jaw was visible, as were her blue-green lips.
Mouth contorted into a snarl, she glared at the boy. "Watch yourself, or I'll run through you next time!" she shouted, her blood boiling beneath her skin.
