WHO: Helena, Kiki, and Rosalie WHAT: Brunch and shopping WHERE: On the town. WHEN: Today, noonish WARNINGS: Gratuitous label name dropping and some language (thanks Kiki)
The morning so far was going by without much incident, and Helena hoped the rest of the day would pass the same. Kiki had been staying with them for weeks now with still no end in sight. And while there were many, many times where her added presence was stressful, this morning wasn’t one of them, at least so far. They both got ready in relative calm and quiet and the mood seemed to extend to the taxi ride. Although whether this was due to lack of coffee or alcohol had yet to be seen. By the time they arrived at Sarabeth’s, Helena was relaxed but eager, not dreading the day of brunch and shopping like she had expected to. She got out of the cab first, paying the driver as she found it too early to be fussing over who should pay, and held the door out for her friend.
“Do you think Rosalie’s here already?” Glancing at her watch she saw they arrived just a few minutes past noon. Their little excursion had been last minute, the details informal, but she didn’t want to think she and Kiki had kept someone waiting for very long.
