Evie was in a cheerful mood the entire walk home from school. There had been sun today, and they had finally gotten to scrimmage on the field. She had performed brilliantly, if she said so herself, and it had helped her work off some of the pent-up anger and frustration all of the talking to Jack had caused. The mood dissipated as soon as she stepped foot in the building though, as she remembered that he wasn't just paying her a visit without warning, he had moved back and was trying to reinsert himself into her life.
When she saw him slouching though, she almost felt bad for him. Almost. Evie approached her door warily. "Long time, no see." The words were pointed, and she crossed her arms and waited for his excuse.
