Hannah barely heard what was said after her turn. This was a bad idea and she never should have agreed to it. Emery had never hurt her in the past, but there were times when - just for a moment - he'd seemed like a different person. When they'd make plans and he'd cancel at the last moment with some feeble excuse. In the kitchen after the glass broke, when it was someone else's voice - it reminded her of those long-ago times, but aside from that he'd been perfect. Until now.
She turned towards Red in confusion when she spoke, unsure if she was talking to her or just herself.
The next question was something she did not want to answer. If she said it was only one time, no one would believe her. She couldn't stand them thinking that Emery was an abuser, even though they didn't actually know his name or anything about him.
Hannah glared at her psychiatrist when her turn came, but the woman met her gaze steadily. Anything she said was going to make her look like she was in denial, when she wasn't. "It was only one time. It's just... complicated." How was she supposed to explain that she was starting to fear that Emery had problems he'd never told her about? "I thought he was someone he wasn't, someone I trusted, and he caught me off guard. But his brother, he stopped him before it could get too far. They're different, and that's why he left, because--" She stopped herself, glancing uneasily around the room. "I wouldn't call him my abuser, okay? It happened once."
