The doors had slammed shut two minutes ago, the moment they just started repeating the same thing they'd set on the post. Daniel felt as if he was being dismissed from this problem. First they moved him from the building, and now they wouldn't listen to him. He was convinced that he was the only one Vaughn talked to with any sense of honesty, and now that they were all able to shut him out physically, they discounted his opinion as utterly alarmist and sent out the pretty caring types to shush him.
He wasn't in the mood to be shushed. He was scared and he was angry and he was tired of both. He pushed past Rosalie, walked over all the papers, and slammed into the back bedroom, where he might actually attempt to physically force would-be intruders out again, should it become necessary.
