Ileana bit back so much she wanted to say. It wouldn't help her case of being a mature adult if she yelled at him that it wasn't fair. She could see it in his eyes that he was deliberately pushing her away.
And it still wasn't fair.
She didn't bother to try to mask the sad look in her eyes. "I get it. I'm..." she paused before she shook her head, "I'm not sorry. I want you, but...I respect you more. If you can't, then.."
Ileana moved close to lean up, giving him a quick peck on the cheek. "I'd be willing to hide for you, Cole. Dunno if you really believe me yet, but it's true. But maybe you should get over this age thing. I won't wait forever."
Slipping away from Cole, Ileana turned to walk out of the kitchen and called out before the door shut behind her, "You know where to find me."
