Ella listened, and she soothed, and she repeated when it was necessary. Her hand was tight in Rosalie's, and when they took the other woman for a CAT Scan, Ella followed behind the rolling hospital bed.
Vaughn had done this, she thought as they walked. She had already known Daniel's fears to be well founded, but this took them to a new level. She didn't believe Daniel to be involved with Rosalie any longer, and he'd made that very clear during the last anonymous post. The fact that Vaughn had done this, even with that knowledge, meant it didn't matter what Daniel did to keep anyone safe. Vaughn would harm perceived threats, which meant she would harm anyone.
She hugged her arms around herself when the stretcher stopped, and she looked down at Rosalie as they waited for her turn at the CAT Scan machine. "Did she say why?" she asked simply.
